ED Survey 2018 - Update 21 Nov

Survey Outreach Update  21/11

Dear Coordinators and Partners,

🎉Great news we have made it to 2000 responds! 🎉
This is the results of 8 weeks of promotion, and we are very happy to have reached this number. Seeing the great promotion that has taken place and especially in the last couple of weeks we have decided to extend the survey. The new deadline to answer the survey is now the 9th January 2019, make sure to update this in your communication channels and send the new date to the partners who help you promote the survey.
This will allow us to collect even more respondents and make it to at least 3000 which is a good starting point for European-wide research.

In order to support you more we have:

📌 Updated the Communication Pack with more graphics to be used.
📌 Contacting Student Unions and National Youth Councils around Europe again, to ask for support in the promotion and we are continuing to remind our partners to help us spread the survey.

📌 Translating our advertisement on Facebook to more languages so to help you reach young people.

With another 6 weeks added to promote the survey, we hope to balance out some of the numbers of respondents, and we would love to have each country reach at least 100 respondents. We are eager to help you reach this goal and look forward to supporting you in these coming weeks. With that being said, there are some great practices that you can already share, retweet, and use for your own promotion.

"Laura is our new EVS/ESC volunteer, she's from Austria and just started a 9 month-EVS/ESC project here with us. Laura really likes making videos so when she told us that we thought we could use her motivation and skills to publish videos on our social networks.

She asked me to give her the text (what to say) in French, and she recorded the video with her friend. So, we chose to use the peer-to-peer approach, having Laura be in these videos. For the next one, we may add subtitles, just to make it easier to read and share on social networks.

This is her 1st video but she's already planned to make others: one to promote
DiscoverEU and another one to encourage young people to vote for the next European elections by asking young people how their mobility experiences made them feel Europeans."

A great way of capturing attention is using GIPHs (a short video) and hashtags that will generate visibility.
At EBL we have been testing a combination of the set of official promotion photos and funny GIPH
, making sure that we make the communication about the survey dynamic.
You can find a GIPH library at

Do copy/paste or our posts and share them in your own language. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel and a translation of a post is a matter of minutes.
